Investing 2.5 hours a week in exercise can lower your risk of cancer by one-third
Did you know investing 2.5 hours a week in exercise can lower your risk of cancer by ⅓?
This is a quick summary of some really compelling research about a groundbreaking clinical trial a friend shared with me!
The takeaway message is this:
"Each participant in the exercise program chose their own forms of moderate-intensity exercise – from walking to pickleball – with the goal of adding 2.5 hours of exercise per week to their regular activity schedule. The outcome: those who received the exercise program had a 28% lower risk of recurrence and new cancers and a 37% lower risk of death."
What I love about this is its simplicity - 2.5 hours of an exercise of my choosing - regular activity - is powerfully effective! I walk sometimes, I play basketball sometimes, I try pushups sometimes, I also do nothing lots of the time. My new goal is 2.5 hours of new exercise a week!
